Our Story
Lancewood Lodge became part of our family’s story in 2017.
A Family Project
What began as the purchase of a historic property quickly became a long-term project of restoration, improvement, and stewardship. Since then, three generations of our family have played a role in helping shape the lodge into what it is today.
Over the years we have undertaken extensive renovations throughout the property, carefully balancing modern comfort with the character and charm that make a home of this age so special.
Alongside the work inside, the grounds have continually evolved through significant landscaping and garden development, creating the peaceful surroundings guests enjoy today.
A Place Full Of Memories
Lancewood Lodge has also become the setting for many of our own family milestones. In fact, we were married here, surrounded by family and friends, making the property an even more meaningful part of our lives.
As the primary host, I have the privilege of welcoming many of our guests personally. One of the things I enjoy most is hearing the stories that bring people here: family reunions, wedding weekends, celebrations, work trips, and long-awaited catch-ups between friends.
Every booking is different, and that is part of what makes hosting at Lancewood Lodge so rewarding.
Still Growing, Still Improving
Like many historic properties, the lodge is never truly finished. Each year brings new projects, improvements, and opportunities to enhance both the property and the guest experience.
We continue to invest in the home, the gardens, and the facilities so future guests can enjoy everything that makes Lancewood Lodge special.
For us, Lancewood Lodge is more than a business. It is a home, a heritage property, a family project, and a place we are proud to share with guests from New Zealand and around the world.
